As the year past and finally came to an end, I can already taste my grandmas ozoni soup. The wonderful taste of boiling soup, chicken, chopped vegetables, and chewy Mochi filled the air.
Ozoni soup is a traditional japenese tradition, it brings the family closer together and good luck for the rest of the year. Usually you have to start making ozoni soup the day before. It takes a lot of time to make ozoni soup because of getting all the ingredients ready.
As New Year's day finally arrived I could hardly wait to go down to my grandmas house. After the tiring night of all the playing around, popping fireworks, and running around I can finally relax and eat the great taste of Ozoni soup. I was so excited rushing into the smell of successfully asrandma put the hard solid cold mochi and throwing them into the hot steaming pan, turning them into soft fluffy cloud like.
Finally after a long wait our family gathered around the table breathing in the delightful smell of ozoni soup. Watching my grandma grab her big spoon dropping it into the pot and gathering some soup then pouring some into our bowls. My eyes got wide and a big smile put on my face I stared at the soup as I saw my grandma pouring it into my bowl and seeing the hot ozoni soup splash out of the bowl. I put my spoon into the bowl scooping the hot boiling soup and putting it into my mouth. Feeling as if I were in paradise.
New years eve came to an end. Trying to keep a smile on my face as I take my last spoon full of ozoni soup. As we finished our conversations leaving I looked back at the pot seeing this empty I turned around and walked out the door saying thank you to my grandma . Knowing we would eat this I eagerly now couldn't wait for next year to come.
